... more about my journey...
I believe that we are in relationship with everything around us... our ever changing environments. If we don't take a holistic approach to healing by looking at all that we surround ourselves with then we are just fooling ourselves. Science has already proven that everything is made up of energy; particles of vibrating matter and that our energetic bodies respond to our environments because of this core foundation that we share with everything.
I have walked in many worlds and have related to many different environments. I grew up in what I often refer to as a 'beer and football' culture by the beach on the Central Coast of NSW. With an ever growing curiosity of "there must be more to life than this" I moved to Sydney where I lived for 7 years and worked a variety of jobs including an alternative publishing firm and several corporate businesses. I was making money and having fun in my early 20's.
Again the question arose... "there must be more to life than this" and this time I took off overseas with a girlfriend where I began to learn very quickly that there was indeed much more to life than this easeful sunburnt country in which I was raised. I was drawn to the simplicity of life in developing countries and the complexity and fast pace of big cities and all in between. I traveled parts of Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Sth East Asia. My eyes were wide open and absorbing all that I was through the mirror of the diversity of life, culture, language and created experiences that I will never forget.
I traveled on and off for 10years during which time I also married and divorced; another precious gift of growth and understanding. It was also on this journey that I left a high paid corporate job and took on a role managing a small youth charity in Sydney. I witnessed programs that helped people heal through creative means, through really looking at themselves, their stories and empowering them with their own choices and the discovery of their own gifts. It was during this time that I decided I wanted to be a counsellor.
It wasn't until several years later, when I had landed in my new and current home of Melbourne, that I embarked on this journey as the healing practitioner that I now am. My curiosity of "there must be more to life than this" saw my focus turn inwards, to my own inner world (and to that of others) and for these journeys that I continue to experience today I am forever grateful.
A solid community of amazing friends, ecstatic dance, creative expression and deep nourishing relationships continue to feed me as the journey continues to unfold...
